Thoughts on the Media - May 10, 2007

I am so aggravated with the media I can't stand it.

Things that the press focuses on closely become the only thing that matters. They are the microscope that highlights things that normally would go unnoticed. When you fall under the microscope, look out. All of those blemishes that could not be seen before look incredibly large and ugly. Every word that is uttered is examined for political correctness and if it offends anyone, shame on you. You are a terrible person.

War, as it turns out, is not a popular and pleasant thing. The injury and death of soldiers, is not a good thing. The press has zoomed in on this for years. So let's change the microscope's focus and zoom far out. The Middle-East is a tinder box that could blow up at any time due to the existance of Israel. The U.S., unfortunately, is dependent on Middle-Eastern oil and need to protect that supply line, since we are incapable of implementing a plan to ween ourselves from it. Our long term goal is to stabilize the region, thus protecting the oil and Israel from any rash actions on the part of Arab states. Removing Sadam Hussein takes one mad man out of the mix. By creating some kind of democracy in Iraq, that is one less Arab nation we have to worry about making any rash move, plus its location serves as a buffer between Iran and Israel. While the Israeles and Palistinians will never be friends, at least there are fewer suicide bombings taking place. Things are calming down and that can have a good long-range effect. Al-Quida in Iraq has been focussed on trying to remove Americans from the "sacred" Arab lands and while they do this, we are killing them over there rather than here in the U.S. We are keeping the radicals "occupied" over there and not here. Remember that we lost about 3000 people on 9/11 and have lost over 3000 troops since then in the Middle-East. Sure we hate paying that price, but, it would be even more costly if we were fighting this war on our home turf.

Long-range, we have a better chance of peace by fighting them now rather than showing weakness and lack of committment to victory as the liberals would like to see. You can pay a price now, or a higher price later. Think long-term, not short term. Think of our country's long term stability, not our short term political expediency.

Here are a few misconceptions that the media has hammered into our heads so much that according to them, it has to be right.

Bush Lied about WMD as an excuse to go into Iraq - If you remember, the UN was trying to find WMD but was unsuccessful. Iraq was not complying with their call for cooperation and were basically thumbing their nose at the UN. Did Iraq have WMD? Let's see, they used it in a war against Iran, they used it to slaughter thousands of Kurds, so therefore...what...they don't have any??? What did they do with it? Send it to Syria? Flush it down some toilet? The UN was asking how did they dispose of it and Iraq did not respond. So did they use it all up? Highly unlikely. All of our allies (former allies since we only have about 4 now) around the world agreed that Iraq had WMD. Most everyone agreed that Iraq would not hesitate to use it. [let's see they used it against Iraq and the Kurds, therefore.... they would not use it??? Now that doesn't make sense] I heard speaches from the late 1990s by Ted Kennedy, Hillary Clinton and even Bill Clinton saying that Iraq was a danger because of their WMD and we needed to neutralize that threat!!! This is coming from their mouths. I taped these statements off of the radio. What these three people said we should do is exactly what Bush is doing!!!

The conclusion: Civilized nations and even our prominent Democratic politicians believed that Iraq had WMD and were a dangerous threat to the world.

Here is one of my favorite statements. It comes from that highly principled, "see which way the surveys are going and I'm with the majority", John Kerry. Before the 2004 Presidential election, he was saying that we needed to get out of Iraq because "80% of Iraquis wanted us out of their country". On the surface, that looks like a bold statement. What nation wants the U.S. military stationed throughout the country???? Does anybody?? Turn this question around and see what we would answer this. Would you like the Muslims who have entered this country over the last ten years to leave? I vote yes, and I contend that at least 50% of the nation would also say yes. So, how bad does 80% really sound in light of that? I find it amazing that as many as 20% want us to stay!

The conclusion: The 80% figure of Iraquis who want us to leave is not an outrageous statement as John Kerry would like you to think. It is natural to want to be left alone by outsiders. Is it not?

How about this one. Tony Blair is just Bush's lapdog.

How incredibly insulting. Our best, most loyal ally over decades is just an obedient lapdog that will roll over and do tricks just because we tell them to. They have no thoughts or opinions of right and wrong themselves. Blair just does whatever command Bush tells him to do. This is embarassingly insulting. Blair, who is considered a liberal in England, understood the difference between right and wrong and went with his moral convictions (not going with political expediency....our politicians would never go with political expediency, would they?) and supported the cause of Good against Evil. Tony Blair is to be praised and admired. He stands for doing the right thing against popular, short sighted, complacent thinking.

  The Path to 9/11 - September 11, 2006
ABCs "The Path to 9/11" was a wonderful overview of the last 15 years of the United States dealing with Usama Bin Laden and his band of barbarians. While President Clinton and several other people protested how they individually were depicted in the movie, these bunglers are only the tip of the iceberg. Forget about the individuals, lets worry about the system. The system that places the chain of command, protocol, following the "book" and not offending anyone over protecting US citizens and catching these barbarians. Our system of government is ponderous, inefficient and ineffective.

We fight with tremendous restrictions that prevent success. We are forced to operate strictly by the rules. Individuals fear taking appropriate actions because it may infringe on someones civil liberties, and in the end, the individual pays the price and the barbarians are free to plot more atrocities.

The mainstream media is out there reporting everything they can that will be sensational and will give their media company something to give the American public showing how bad WE are. We are the bad guys. We put women's panties over the heads of prisoners and let dogs bark at them. That has been determined to be cruel torture by the American press. These topics stayed in the public's eye for months. How long did we dwell on the beheadings of our people? That was too unsettling so the press chose to look at things Americans were doing wrong. Do you want to get angry? Just listen to or watch the beheading of Nick Berg by Al Qaeda. Do you think it was quick and painless? It was slow and excruciatingly painful as you hear Nick Berg screaming at they performed this barbaric act.

We cannot defeat these barbarians with the press weakening our will to fight, to defend ourselves, and to win this war and with a government that is only making half-hearted efforts to end this quickly and decisively.

The Nature of the Media Naturally Creates Distortion - March 19, 2006
The "news" reports what is happening today. Not a projection of tomorrow, today. Events of the past create news of today. However, today's events are just a snapshot of history and do not reflect what will happen in the future. What looks good today can be bad for tomorrow. Witness the stock market bubble of 1999-2000 where the sky was the limit and projections based on massive corporate losses of today would turn out to me fabulous profits of tomorrow. It didn't happen. Today we have awful losses and high costs of the Iraqui War. That is going to be what in the future? Think about it. What does it mean for the future?

"America Addicted to Oil" - President Bush - January 31, 2006
Well, President Bush tonight will admit that our country is "addicted to oil", and that's like admitting something like "I am an alchoholic". Hurray! We admit it, now let's do something about it! We need to start conserving oil and switching to alternatives. We need to develop technologies that use other renewable energy resources and sell that technology to other countries and thus further reduce the demand for oil and lessen the power that the Arab nations have over us. This is NOT ROCKET SCIENCE! Our government needs to act!

December 20, 2005 - CLAIMS OF NEW TORTURE METHODS
New York based, Human Rights Watch, claims that the United States is operating a secret prison near Afghanistan's capital. Before you read any further, please get anyone under 21 out of the room, we are talking about TORTURE. Have you braced yourselves? They are subjecting prisoners to up to 20 days of listening to Eminem and Dr. Dre. If you dare, you can read more at http://www.kcra.com/news/5577000/detail.html.

What can you do? You can protest to your local radio stations who apparently have been testing the effects of this music in small doses on an unsuspecting public. The outrage is incredible. To think that Eminem and Dr. Dre are meer tools of President Bush and Rumsfeld. I personally think that this was Rummy's idea. That insidious bastard! President Bush would have only used Bo Bice (American Idol runner-up) which would have been painful but still within the Geneva Convention standards.

Please try to understand what is happening here. Do you realize that for decades, we have been stockpiling this music of mass destruction. Do you remember "Tiny Tim" singing "Tiptoe through the Tulips"? Or, how about Yoko Ono singing "Why". Deadly stuff! The upshot of this is that the entertainment and music business which for years promotes itself as being liberal have for years been overtly producing this material that is now considered a major source of torture.

In the next few weeks I will expose the movie industry for the terrifying things they have perpetrated. How about Barbara Streisand in her movies trying to portray a desirable woman. Scary stuff.
